About (334) Prevention Project
Our mission is to promote drug and bullying prevention through education within our schools and community.
We want to see a drug free world where our children and community are empowered to make the best decisions for their lives.
The success of Dothan-Houston County Substance Abuse Partnership (334 Prevention Project) is derived from an engaged board of directors and a dedicated staff. Together, our work is guided by these core values:
Culture of Collaboration and Excellence: By passionately working together with our community, we challenge each other to achieve the highest levels of excellence.
Dedication to Leadership and Volunteer Service: By empowering the youth of our community, we strive to reach a higher level of leadership ability, while humbly serving our community of which we are proud.
Commitment to Engagement and Connectivity: With an innovative and empowering spirit, we engage our community through education and solutions that shape social responsibly.
Major Services We Offer
While these are the three "majors," they are, by no means, all of the available services. We can bring prevention information to health fairs and we can bring prevention curriculum to our schools for children ages 6-18. We often speak to parent organizations, school groups, church groups, law enforcement, and community service groups about alcohol, drug and tobacco issues as well as ways to help fight the underage use problem.
One Day Lessons:
We are always available to present a lesson on a wide variety of topics, such as: alcohol, tobacco, vaping, prescription drugs, illicit drugs, bullying, and sexting.
Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country. Events are held throughout the county to celebrate Red Ribbon. Please let us know if we can help you kick-off your Red Ribbon week!
Our Youth Council Organization teaches students in 8th-12th grade the power of volunteering and strong leadership skills. For more information on joining, click here!
Drug Takeback Box:
We sponsor a drug take-back box located at the Dothan Police Station. Access it anytime to dispose of old or unused medications!
A prom safety program emphasizing the need for sobriety through the use of a mock car crash involving police, ambulance, fire, coroner personnel, and other groups.
For children ages four-eight, we have puppet shows that educate young children on the dangers of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco.
Informational Programs for Adults:
The Partnership is available to speak to parents and teachers to help them understand what their children are facing today. We offer information on alcohol, concealment containers, vaping, prescription drugs, illicit drugs, bullying, and sexting.
These are just a few of the tasks we are available to do. Please let us know what we can do to help your group today!
